Bailies' Council had agreed on the draft lease of Afforsk Pond, and awaited final copy; Cooke replied that the dam had been leaking due to heavy rains and the pond was too full to carry out repairs, so no lease by FC until matters remedied

Walker suggests water samples are needed to determine pH, as more acid would create more vegetation and make fishing harder. Ponds for trout should be at least 3m deep; Brown trout would thrive better than Rainbow etc;

George Taylor, outgoing Conservator for East Scotland writes to Helen Fraser thanking her for invite to a Bailies' council meeting as he is in Dumfries then. Taylor stepping down and moving to South Scotland division of FC

Marnie notes Bailies had voted to spend £500 on drainage of a particular field, says would not benefit FC, so suggests they write asking permission to use field on a particular day per yr, so FC can give them security of tenure for a period of 10yr.

Marnie sends 2 estimates from contractors to drain said field at the Back o Bennachie carpark, suggests chosen contractor speak to Mr Aitken(FC), but not to go ahead until the Bailies have got permission from the FC

Helen Fraser (Bailies' Clerk) writes to day the Bailies will pay for draining the parking field, but ask permission from Forestry Commission to use it on the Rally Day each year for next 10-15yr (follow on from 8-1-16A and B)
